Customize which content your users see for free
The rise of the subscription model has continued to climb over the past few years, and it took an even larger upward turn after the start of 2020's COVID-19 crisis. For publishers, a smart paywall strategy will not only improve user experience, but build sustainable revenue for your business to thrive. Subscriptions can also be a golden ticket to strong user loyalty. It's estimated that 80–90% of the people who are paying for digital subscriptions now are at least somewhat likely to still be paying for access next year.
At RebelMouse, we have a subscription strategy that's driven massive growth for the sites on our platform. Now, we're happy to introduce the Paywall element in the Layout & Design Tool. This new element allows you to control how much content you offer to readers for free.
In Layout & Design Tool, you will find two sub-elements within the Paywall element:
- Free Part of Content: Place any elements you would like logged-out users to see for free here.
- Paid Part of Content: Place any elements you would like to exclusively offer to logged-in users here.
The number of elements you can include in each sub-element is limitless, and everything is customizable.
Here's how the setup for the Paywall element looks in Layout & Design Tool:
