RebelMouse has its own proprietary algorithm for on-site search across the properties that we power. Here's a breakdown of how our search logic works.
Searching on Site
Our search results are based on the relevancy of your search phrase. This is usually pretty straightforward, but sometimes you can customize your search page depending on your content. In the example below, RebelMouse-powered HealthDay implemented filters to categorize their search results on site:
How an article is categorized in your site's sections can impact how it is returned in your search results. Here are some points to keep in mind:
- If your site does not have private sections at all, then every post is public .
- Otherwise, if all sections assigned to a post are private , then the post is private .
- If a post belongs to a mix of private, public, and/or unlisted sections, that post is considered public .
Search by Author
If you have multiple authors contributing to your content, you can customize your search results page by author profile. Here's an example from RebelMouse-powered La Verità .
This is accomplished using the Authors element . Click here to learn more.
